每週 1 小時. Homework is optional. I will add some personal and comprehension questions to the classroom page for each video so you can test yourself on what you remember from the story! If you prefer, the questions can simply be talked over with a loved one. If you would like to share your answers, I will respond to each student’s comments and/or answers in the Outschool classroom throughout the week. I will correct any wrong answers (to the comprehension questions only), and supply any answers that the students could not remember if requested.評估
Please see answer to the "homework" section above. The questions I will post in the classroom page are a way to informally assess how your student is doing!我們無法翻譯此文,請刷新頁面並再試一次。

Welcome to our Greek mythology class, where the adventure of creation begins! In this engaging Greek mythology class, we’ll journey back to the very beginning of the cosmos, exploring the captivating myths that explain the creation of the world. We’ll delve into the primordial entities that shaped existence, from Chaos to Gaia, and discover how the Titans rose to power in a tumultuous era of mythic struggle. Students will learn about the key figures, including Uranus, Cronus, and Rhea, and their roles in the emergence of the Olympian gods. We’ll examine the rich tapestry of stories that illustrate the ancient Greeks’ understanding of the universe, nature, and humanity's place within it. Through storytelling including famous art, maps, and family trees, participants will connect these timeless tales to themes of power, family, and the quest for knowledge. Join us as we unlock the mysteries of creation and the profound stories that continue to resonate through history and culture! Make sure to use PHELPKCY075 to get $5 off! If you are interested in other Greek stories, I have three other flex classes available presently: https://bit.ly/3UC1hAd (Technically this is "part 2," although the classes can be taken in any order) https://bit.ly/3w8YGDL (Part 3) https://bit.ly/3ukYalH (Part 4) ~ Who is this class for? ~ This class is great for those who: • Are completely new Greek mythology • Have heard some myths and want to get a better grasp of each god, hear some of their favorite stories, and hear stories that are less widely known • Have read or listened to something like Percy Jackson, Goddess Girls, Heroes in Training, The Magic Treehouse, or Greeking Out and want to hear what inspired the books (or podcast)! ~ What can I expect from this class? ~ For each lesson, you will receive a link to the video containing the story for that week. You can watch and listen as many times as you would like within the duration of the class. I will also add some fun personal and comprehension questions to the classroom so you can test yourself on what you remember from the story and build relationships with the other students in class! If you prefer, the questions can simply be talked over with a loved one. If you would like to share your answers, I will respond to each student’s comments and/or answers in the Outschool classroom throughout the week. I will correct any wrong answers (to the comprehension questions), and supply any answers that students could not remember.

來源
I will be drawing mostly from "D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths" and occasionally from: "Bulfinch's Greek and Roman Mythology: The Age of Fable" and Edith Hamilton's "Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes" to tell each myth in a full and clear way accessible to young learners!

**1) Classes Taught:**
I specialize in teaching courses that focus on introducing literature, critical thinking, and history to young learners. My repertoire includes classes on reading, mythology, literature, and logic, offering students a diverse array of subjects to explore and engage with.
**2) Professional Background:**
With a background in humanities (literature, history, and Great Books), I bring a multidisciplinary perspective to my teaching practice. I strongly believe in continuing my education post-graduation, so I have continued to push myself to explore philosophy, ancient mythologies, literary traditions, and cultural beliefs from around the world.
**3) Teaching Philosophy:**
At the heart of my teaching philosophy lies a deep belief in the transformative power of education. I see teaching not merely as a transmission of facts, but as a way to life. My goal is to create dynamic learning environments where students feel empowered to question, critique, and engage critically with course material, fostering intellectual curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. I employ questions, movement, visuals, songs, and physical at-home items to make lessons engaging and memorable!
I believe in the importance of cultivating critical thinking in the classroom, encouraging students to approach texts and topics with an open mind and a spirit of inquiry. Through thoughtful analysis, much dialogue, and collaborative inquiry, we can navigate the complexities of human experience and broaden our understanding of the world around us.
**4) Fun and Personal:**
When I'm not in the classroom, you can often find me spending time with my family. My husband, two sons, and I love to explore the great outdoors (we are located in the Sonoran desert!), cook, read, and talk together! I have a passion for community, and love taking trips to visit my parents and friends.
Making learners feel heard and welcome is one of my top priorities! My classes are very learner-centered. I differentiate every lesson to make it as suitable as possible to your learner’s particular needs, learning styles, and interests.
---
That's a glimpse into who I am as a teacher, scholar, and individual. I look forward to embarking on this educational journey with you and exploring the wonders of literature, culture, and history together!
