Could dragons be dinosaurs? Are there mysterious half fish half human mermaids at the bottom of the ocean? Is there a mysteriously tall, hairy creature stalking the forests of North America? In this 5 week flex class students will learn about some of the most infamous mythological creatures or monsters. The lesson is presented with a slide show with text, images, and videos when appropriate. I do a lot of story telling to bring the creatures to life. Throughout each class we will discuss...

This class is not for all students. We will discuss mature content such as serial killers (when discussing the truth that may have led to vampires), deaths from certain creatures, how bodies decompose and some themes may be scary for young or sensitive learners. I will never show any gore or inappropriate pictures, but many of these myths involve human deaths by these creatures or from the real life events they are based around.
