In this multi day class, learners will be introduced to the concepts of place value, composing numbers and basic addition and subtraction through the use and practice of Montessori golden bead materials. The golden beads are the most concrete math material because they represent the actual value of a number. Their size, mass and shape differ for each place value. Learners will be provided with the following before class meetings: Electronic Golden Beads Materials for printing Number symbol cards in hierarchical colors Composition of number tickets Addition and subtraction problems Golden Beads coloring control chart page Learners should have paper, colored pencils, a standard pencil and scissors for class.

Parental guidance is recommended for use of scissors when cutting out golden beads work. The Canva presentation tool will be used for display purposes in the class, and an account is not required for any learners or families. I will only be using this resource in a screen share capacity.
