All children experience emotions from excited outbursts to anger and frustration. In this class, students will learn techniques to help them self-regulate. We all have the tools in our own bodies to calm ourselves down and help put us in an optimal learning zone. In this class, students will learn how to recognize their feelings and use mindfulness, focus practice and strategies, mindful movement, and breath to calm their bodies and minds. Students will learn the four zones of regulation, how to identify what zone they are in and use strategies to help them self regulate.
I am a certified in Social Emotional Learning. I am as certified as a yoga teacher for both kids and adults. I am also an elementary school teacher and have been using these techniques in my classroom for the past 7 years.
yoga mat or towel
Students will need an open workout space and a yoga mat or a towel. Students are suggested to stretch prior to class, but will be stretching to warm up in class as well. Please have your student in flexible attire and socks or barefoot. A water bottle is suggested to have near by. Parental guidance is suggested as injuries can occur if not properly supervised.
