Math requires hands-on learning, especially when children are learning a new concept. In this review of place value and regrouping, we will use manipulatives to help learners grasp the important concept of place value in multiple ways and then students will briefly create their own numbers using cereal pieces to solidify the concept. This will be followed by a review of two-digit borrowing and how that relates to place value. We will practice multiple borrowing/regrouping problems and...
Students will have a greater understanding of borrowing and regrouping.
50 pieces of cereal like Fruit Loops or Cheerios. They must have a hole in the center since we will string them. Beads with a center hole are also acceptable. Yarn or string (five pieces cut into five inch strips).
