Beginner - Intermediate 等級
Students will complete two to three drawings of crystals and geodes (agate slices). Week 1: We will examine actual crystals and clusters from my collection and discuss common properties and shapes (what the matrix is, how quartz crystals are hexagonal, etc.). Students will be guided in a simple technique for drawing a cluster of crystals in a matrix, and then learn a fun wet-on-wet painting technique for painting them to give them a "cosmic" or "galaxy" look. Week 1Lesson 1CrystalsWe will look at different types of crystals, crystal clusters, and agate geodes, and begin the step-by-step process of drawing a crystal in pencil.Week 2Lesson 2GeodesWe will look at pictures of and/or actual agate slices, drawing, painting, and adding details with salt and/or glitter (optional).
I love to draw and paint, and I love to break down what looks like difficult or challenging art processes into steps that kids can follow, no matter what their experience or ability level.
Paper (Good quality drawing paper or a sketchbook is recommended) pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser Colored pencils (Crayola or Sargent are good brands. My personal favorite is Prismacolor) Markers (student's favorite brand, or whatever you already have, water-based is best) Ultra Fine black Sharpies (or similar fineliners, again, whatever you have or your child prefers) watercolor paint. Crayola or Prang are good brands--stay away from Crazy Art! Optional: salt, glitter, etc. for sprinkling on painted geodes.
