In this one-time class, we will review / share information about sunflowers (the big ones produce the sunflower seeds we eat; sunflower blossoms follow the track of the sun, face each other on cloudy days to share energy, etc.), then practice drawing the shapes of a sunflower. We will draw a section of a sunflower in the corner of the canvas/canvas panel, adding a leaf coming from behind the petals. As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing and painting lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
