Does your child love animals? Then they will love making their own Animals Around the World Book. Join me as I incorporate their love of animals into a fun and exciting class that also explores the continents and oceans of our earth. 

In this interactive class, I combine basic world geography with learning about some amazing animals. Each week, the class will begin with the students using their map (supplied by me) to find the continent or oceans we will be learning about. After locating the continent (map skills), I will share information about that continent or ocean, and four unique animals that live there. As an educational enrichment class, this class provides basic geography, basic map skills, science (animal classifications), and reasoning skills (teacher-directed questioning). 

During class, students will be shown a presentation, consisting of information on the continent and the animals we will learn about. Throughout the class, students will be engaged by teacher-directed questions and allowed to share their own personal knowledge of animals as well as a focus on critical thinking questions to engage their minds.

Each week after class, students will receive a packet of information from the class to make their own Animals Around the World book. This packet includes the information about the continent (or oceans) we learned about and the animals that live there, along with pictures of the animals to cut and glue on the correct continent on their map. This will be a fun activity for families to do together and to have as a keepsake. After class, I also provide questions for you to engage your student with what they learned. 

There are 26 weeks of different animals as we visit each continent twice, different animals each time, and a few weeks of animals in our oceans. Your student is welcome to jump in and out as needed.

Please note, I like to get to know my students so I do spend a few minutes at the beginning of each class asking them questions to help me get to know them.
