In Part One you learn:
- the present and future tenses of first conjugation verbs
- nominative, accusative, genitive and dative cases of first declension nouns
- how to use adverbs like non
- about 64 words in Latin

You will also have completed 16 translations from Latin to English and be able to compose simple sentences in Latin.

In Latin for Beginners Part Two we learn:
- the perfect and imperfect tenses of first conjugation verbs
- the vocative and ablative cases of first declension nouns
- how to use prepositions
- second conjugation verbs
-second declension nouns

I have been a schoolteacher for over twenty years and I have spent most of my career teaching in schools where high academic achievement is valued.

I originally trained in the United States but I received my bachelors degree and teacher qualifications in England and I work in London.  I have studied Latin for over five years and my teaching experience means that I understand how to explain concepts in English and Latin grammar effectively.

I have studied Latin for five years and am passionate about its role in developing a child's intellect. I have taught over 700 learners with most families staying with me for a full academic year and often, longer.

Pupils will get more from this class if they read through and practise the vocabulary before the lesson begins.  Practising the vocabulary first means that pupils come to the lesson ready to translate, parse and compose sentences.

If your child is not yet able to complete the end of section tasks fluently then they may repeat this section.
If your child is able to complete the end of section tasks fluently then they may enroll in Latin for Beginners Part Two.
