Hello, families! This class was requested by a parent. So, here I am, creating content specifically for your young learners.
 
Together, we will work on alphabet recognition, letter sounds, counting, number recognition, simple addition and subtraction, shapes, and handwriting. We'll discuss similarities and differences, size comparisons, and we will master a few simple sight words. We will cover a broad area to give your learner the confidence needed to begin kindergarten.
We will progress through kindergarten content as your child shows mastery of one skill in order to move on to the next. My lessons will often build upon each other. For example, we won't tackle CVC words until we have a strong understanding of letter sounds. We won't look at simple addition problems until we can count and recognize numbers. We can progress to reading simple sentences when the learner shows strengths in letter recognition and sound production.
I taught kindergarten for 6 years. Then I taught first grade for another 6 years. I am certain that your learner will have SO much fun through a variety of teaching methods. I love to sing, use rhyme, and kinesthetic activities to help trigger all parts of the brain. This approach will help information stick with your child.
