This is an introductory genetics course aimed at high school students who are interested in studying biology. Students will get some background on the history of the field and will learn about basic concepts such as Genes and Cell Division, Mendelian and Non-Mendelian Inheritance, Human Pedigrees, Chromosomal Patterns of Inheritance and basic molecular genetics, such as DNA replication, Transcription and translation. I have a doctorate in Parasite Genetics from McGill University, Canada. I am a former researcher and have published several papers on the genetics of drug resistance and disease susceptibility. I have taught genetics and other topics in biology in university.
