Learning goals will be designed to fit the needs of each student. Examples of skill areas are strengthening their phonics skills in order to decode and read at a conversational rate. Students may build their vocabulary or learn comprehension strategies to understand texts.

I have over 15 years of teaching experience across various learning environments, such as public, private, independent, and virtual.  I am currently a licensed educator in the State of Maryland. I have a Masters degree in teaching and TESOL/TEFL certification. I have stepped away from the public education system in order to homeschool my children.  In addition to teaching my 3 children, I offer individual and small-group instruction to elementary students.  It is rewarding to see young learners thriving from reading literacy instruction designed to meet their individual needs.  I feel most effective as a teacher when I can work with each family to create a plan of action that will facilitate confidence and guide a student on their path toward reading fluency.
