By the end of the class the learner should have achieved 3 main skills: 1. Identify primary colors, secondary colors, and complimentary colors. 2. Experimentation with the physical paints will guide them to discover how all of the colors work together. 3. How to compose a painting and know what to expect while utilizing their color mixing knowledge.
Several Pieces of Paper for Experimentation Painting Surface for Finished Work (this can vary with what supplies you have at home): Stretched canvas, canvas board, cardboard, thick paper, recycled materials like the inside of a cereal box, etc. Recommended sizes are 8" X 10" or 9" X 12" Pencil Eraser Acrylic or Tempera Paint Brushes - a variety of sizes Water Cup Paper Towel Palette - this can be a paper plate, a sheet of wax paper, or an old magazine For easy cleanup, a placemat and apron or paint shirt are encouraged
