Welcome aboard the ol' Titanic! Never was there a finer ship! In this class, we will learn the following things about the Titanic: How? How was the ship built? How did it sink? Who? What types of people were aboard the ship? Who survived? What? What was it like being on the Titanic as a guest? Where? Where did the Titanic travel? Why? Why did the Titanic sink? Why was it considered such a great ship? When? When did the Titanic disaster happen? Class will be 25 minutes long and include...
Students will develop comprehension and retelling skills for sharing the Titanic story. We will practice basic information gathering by using the five Ws and 1 H to research and learn about the topic.
I have been a librarian for over a decade. In this time, I have worked with students of all ages (college to elementary) on their reading, organization, and grammar skills. I have also been teaching English online for the last three years. I have been with VIPKid, an online ESL teaching program, for 3 years, and I have been with Magic Ears (another ESL teaching program) for the last year. In this time, I have learned to elicit total physical response while engaging young learners, teaching curriculum based on learning English as a second language. I have worked in both one-on-one and four-on-one virtual settings. I am comfortable with all ages and larger groups of children.
