Ghosts, witches, and vampires are traditional horror monsters often associated with Halloween. So where did they come from? In this class, we will be going over each of these monsters, their legends and origins, and famous examples of each monster. This will be a primarily lecture-based class, with students getting the opportunity to ask questions related to each monster. Students will also be provided with an optional crossword puzzle they can solve using answers from the lecture....
Students will learn the history behind some of the most iconic monsters in horror and Halloween.
I have an IDS BA in Modern Languages and Communication, Digital Media, and Communication. As a part of my college studies, I have taken courses in history. I have tutored students in history, as well as other subjects.

This class will discuss ghosts, accused witches and what happened to them (during trials and punishments), outdated gender concepts (related to witches in the Dark Ages), blood (in relation to vampires), outdated stereotypes (involving those with red hair), death, and myths from different time periods/belief systems. Students will hear general references to the Devil and demons in the historical stories and superstitions. It is up to parents to decide if their students are at the emotional level for this content.
