The ancient Roman city of Pompeii was buried under volcanic ash almost two thousand years ago. When it was re-discovered, huge, beautifully decorated villas were found, beautiful paintings were unearthed, gorgeous jewelry revealed, and amazing architecture brought to light for the world to see. But would you have wanted to live there? This class will explore that topic by showing learners pictures from the town that give important clues as to what daily life in this city would really have...
By the end of the class students will have a clear picture to what daily life was like in this ancient Roman city. They will also learn: 1. What did Romans do for fun? 2. How did Romans do laundry? 3. How did Romans travel? 4. What did a Roman house look like?
I am a credentialed history teacher from California with a Masters degree in history from Sonoma State University. I have taught social studies in public and private schools for over seven years.
All students need to bring are inquisitive minds and curiosity.
