In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to a story about a girl named Tillie who plays her tuba loudly, proudly, early, and late. Students will learn all about adverbs in this wacky tale about a girl who just can't put her tuba down! We will also play an interactive adverb game, where the students get to control the screen using their computer mouse or touch pad. Then we will make a Spin-an-Adverb Wheel, changing adjectives into adverbs. Finally, we will watch the short, fun video on adverbs by School House Rock. This class is great for children who are just learning about adverbs, or to provide extra practice for learners who already know about adverbs. Let's start our adverb learning!

We will be using scissors to cut out the adverb craft. Parental guidance is needed, thank you!

Students will need a printout of the adverb craft. They will also need scissors and a brad paper fastener. If students don't have a brad, they can use a paper clip and bend it to help hold the papers together. See attached picture for example.

I was a substitute teacher for 2 years working with Early Childhood students as well as older elementary students. My passion is reading! I love Children's Literature and I have even co-taught college level students on "What's New In Children's LIterature?" for the last 10 years.
