In this 6-week long class students will learn the rules and then play through the board game Pokémon Master Trainer. In this Co-op version students will work together to beat the game and therefore will gain teamwork and communication skills. Board games are a great way to work on such skills and are becoming quite popular in articles on children's development in group settings. Students will work on cooperative skills like teamwork and communication.
I have played more than 100 board games in my life with a lot of them in my collection. My family are avid board gamers and play every time we get together. I also have hosted community board game nights with friends in my neighborhood. As far as Pokémon, I grew up playing all the games, especially Generation 1 which is the subject matter of this board game.
Students will need some paper or a notebook to keep track of what they have in their hand. (Don't worry if they need reminders I will always have their hands set to the side)
