Hi everyone! I am so excited to offer this new multi-day camp where we will have some fun with watercolor painting! We will be creating three paintings in this camp, all using slightly different techniques and methods. Over the three days, we will create a gorgeous blue whale, fabulous pink flamingo, and a colorful hummingbird. At the beginning of each class, the students will say hi and be encouraged to share something fun. I will then guide them through the day's painting, encourage questions, check in often with them, and share their paintings at the end of class (if they choose not to, that is okay also). By the of the week, your students will have four very different paintings, all of which they will be super proud of.

Day 1:  Blue Whale-- we will discuss the wet-on-wet method of painting and how it allows our paints to spread and blend in an organic and natural way. We will then get our paper and paints ready by taping the paper to our work surface and getting our paints wet. Once our paper is taped down, we will sketch our whale and then get to the good stuff:  Painting! This painting will also include an extra element: science and rubbing alcohol.

Day 2: Pink Flamingo-- on our second day, we will talk about how to add a little bit of shading and detail by layering colors.

Day 3:  Beautiful Hummingbird--  for our third day, we will use the wet-on-dry and wet-on-wet methods to paint a beautiful, fluttering hummingbird. We will be putting everything we learned in the first two classes to use in this final class.

**It is IMPORTANT that learners have paper specifically meant for watercolor painting (not printer paper, cardstock, or mixed media paper) and soft bristle brushes meant for watercolor; this will lead to less frustration for your learner down the road. 

Supplies:
-Watercolor paper 140lb (100% cotton is the best) A link to affordable 100% cotton paper is provided in the supply section
-Paintbrushes (soft bristles, meant for watercolor)
-Watercolor paints
-2 cups of water
-Masking/painters/washi tape
-Paper towel
-Black gel pen or thin point sharpie
-Hairdryer
-Pencil and eraser
-Rubbing alcohol or liquid dish soap
