This 45 minute class will focus on the "B" sound using the book, Where Do Balloons Go?, by Jamie Lee Curtis. I will engage in an interactive story with your child. We will use magnetic pictures of items, focusing on the beginning sound and will sort the items into a sorting bag. Following the sound exploration, we will create a craft that accompanies the story. Students will improve their understanding of the sound the letter B makes. Learning that there are predictable relationships between sounds and letters allows children to apply these relationships to both familiar and unfamiliar words, and to begin to read with fluency.
