Students taking the sports podcasting and broadcasting class will learn a wide range of skills. Students will learn about different sports podcast themes, developing/creating a show, and how to publish. Public communication and speaking skills will be examine as well (delivery, tone, pitch, volume). This class will also provide skills in writing specifically to writing a podcast show (but some of the skills can be used for writing papers). The main topics focus on public speaking in the recording podcast format, technology for recording and publishing a podcast, creating a podcast, and publishing a podcast.

Informal and formal assessment from the weekly discussion questions, providing feedback on weekly learning activities. Formal assessment on the published sports podcast and providing feedback on the finalized recording. If students are interested more in the sports broadcasting than students will have the ability to record a broadcast and Mr. Gullett will listen and provide feedback along with a wide range of examples to model from.
