Students will learn the foundation of economics to connect with it as they move into middle and high school. We will discuss topics such as consumer choices, scarcity and opportunity costs, supply and demand, goods and services, consumers and producers, money, savings, financial institutions and many more. Choices are an important concept, not only in economics but in decision making in general. This class will primarily equip students with tools to make better decisions in many areas in their lives. Through my experience with teaching, coaching and tutoring college students, I have noticed a gap in the connection between students and Economics because many of them have not been exposed - or barely been exposed- to Economics before. Every learning goal(s) will be geared toward an enhanced connection to economics and how it applies in each student's life, pretty much every day.
