In this class will be making our first scarf! A scarf is an easy first project if you are learning crochet for the first time. This is a great project to keep you warm and snuggly or to give as a gift. You will learn: how to make a slip knot how to make a slip stitch how to make a chain stitch how to crochet a single crochet how to crochet a double crochet how to switch yarn how to make tassels I will be demonstrating each skill step by step during class. I learned to crochet at the age of 6. I had aunties that crocheted and knitted regularly and it was just natural I picked it up. I crochet as a way to relax, I crochet to give gifts and share love, I also crochet for profit during the holiday season.
To complete this project you will need: 4 - skeins of medium weight yarn. Two skeins each of the colors you want your scarf to be. I recommend read heart super saver yarn. They have all the colors, its good yarn for beginners, and its affordable. http://www.redheart.com/yarn/super-saver Although, any medium weight #4 yarn will work 1 - I-9 Crochet Hook (5.5 mm) 1 - pair of scissors (sharp) 1- Yarn needle (tapestry needle)
