課堂經歷
This is an ongoing class that allows learners to focus on the crochet skills that interest them. From total beginner level to advanced crocheter, we can find new skills and projects to tackle together. Week one will be all about getting to know your learner and their goals. If your learner already has a hook and yarn, bring them! We can jump right into their preferred project in the very first class. Learners with more specific project ideas are also welcome to wait until after the first class to buy any supplies they might need. You are always welcome to send me a message before or between classes with any questions you may have. Here is an example of what a class COULD look like: Week one- introductions and planning Week two- learning new stitch/stitches to begin project (hat) Week three- learn how to shape hat and get correct fit Week four- Fixing problems and answering questions Week five- finishing project If your student is a beginner we would focus more on technical skills instead of a specific project in the beginning. Learner supplies will vary based on the skills they want to learn with me. Basic crochet supplies are listed below.
- Yarn (no furry or fuzzy yarn please)
Beginners usually do better with larger yarn.
- Hook (recommended size will be on your yarn label)
- Stitch markers ( Any type is fine. Can also use safety pins or paper clips)
- Scissors

I may send your student a copy of a pattern. Usually I will screenshot the pattern information so that your child is not actually accessing a website. Some students like to see the whole pattern. In this case, I will link the pattern post in message to the PARENT.
Very rarely, I will embed a link to a particularly clear and helpful YouTube video as support for practice. This will be on the Classroom page and does NOT take your student to YouTube. The video plays right here on Outschool.

Hello! My name is Brittany and I’m excited to help your child tap into their creative side. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with a minor in Bookmaking. I have experience teaching adults and children of all ages in museum and summer camp settings. I also have 6 years of experience in online teaching.
I am a certified ACE educator here on Outschool which means that I have taken training to give your child the best possible learning experience in our virtual classroom. Whether we are crocheting, knitting, or making art, I want your child to have fun and feel confident in their abilities. I always want to prioritize the idea of adding “yet” when we feel overwhelmed. “I can’t do this…YET!”
