Students will learn how to use color effectively in their art by using different hues, values, the color wheel, and blending.
Learners will need art supplies in their chosen 2D medium such as painting, pastels, markers, etc. For paint, I recommend at least 5 paints: red, yellow, blue, black, and white. For others, please choose a wide range of colors that will allow for easier blending. They will also need other materials such as canvas, drawing paper, mixed media paper, paint brushes, etc.

Some open access artworks from the National Gallery of Art will be featured in our classroom for discussion and example purposes. We will be viewing different still life and landscape works for some of our discussion prompts and games.
