You've heard of ChatGPT. You might have heard of other AI tools - like the AIs that can paint for you. But are they as great as the media wants us to believe? In this class we will dive into the various AI tools, with a special focus on ChatGPT. Learners will get hands-on experience using the tools, an understanding of the behind the scenes technologies, and the limitations of these technologies. 

The goal of the class is to teach learners how to use ChatGPT as a ghostwriter, not as a tool for cheating. The goal is to develop an essay that has depth and quality. The essay will be the work of the learner, not the AI tool. It is clear that the future will involve using AI to help us write. The purpose of writing isn't to put words down, but to move the reader with your message. This class is about using ChatGPT to help bring your message out to the reader.

Outline:
Week 1 - Introduction to ChatGPT and Bard (if learner doesn't have accounts with them, we will create accounts). We will also ask ChatGPT to write each of us an essay. 

Week 2 - ChatGPT can write in many different tones and languages. This week will learn how to best fine tune it to mimic our way of writing.

Week 3 - Questions ChatGPT cannot answer! We will look at various questions that are easy for humans to answer, but where ChatGPT fails.

Week 4 - Language Models is the technology used to create ChatGPT. Today we will take a look at this technology and learn about its possibilities and limitations.

Week 5/6 - This week we introduce Bard. We will learn how we can use Bard and ChatGPT together to increase the depth and quality of our essay. 

Week 7 - Potential real life consequences. What happens when people blindly trust these AIs?

Week 8 - Learner presentations. Learners will present their fact-checking findings.
