Welcome to Snap-athon! In this weekly class we will build small Snap programs. The goal is to give students a safe environment to practice their Snap coding skills. Each week we will take on one coding project. Students are welcome to request a coding project! Snap is a Scratch-like programming language developed by University of California at Berkeley. Just like Scratch, it is a drag and drop environment but, unlike Scratch, Snap includes powerful blocks that allows you to build more interesting projects. Weekly coding projects will include: - Algorithm coding - Small games - Simple Artificial Intelligence projects ...and any other type of coding project we can fit into a single weekly session. Each week will be completely independent of the previous week, so students can join anytime. I'm looking forward to meeting you and have some Snap fun!!! Class outline: Week of June 7th: Video sensing project. We will create a project that uses the webcam Week of June 14th: Google Places API. We will connect to Google to figure out what restaurants are close to us. Week of June 21th: Time to make a fun little Pong game Week of June 28th: Today we will create an art project in Snap

Hello Fellow Learners!
My name is Mounir Shita - but you can call me Mo (trust me, it is scientifically proven to be easier to pronounce). I have been amazed and intrigued by thinking machines since I was a teenager. As an adult, I've made it my career to research and develop thinking machines.
I've spent over 20 years researching real thinking machines, built a lot of technology, started my own "AI" companies and even been involved in government "AI" programs.
In Outschool I hope to contribute to make you curious science, especially intelligent machines. I will teach classes ranging from introduction to artificial intelligence and thinking machines, to ethics (is it good or bad?) to teaching you how to build your own AI-powered games.評論
