Gather around the virtual campfire for a magical journey through storytelling history and creative expression! In this interactive class, students will listen, create, and share their own campfire stories, exploring different storytelling genres each week. From ancient myths to modern spooky tales, students will learn about the origins of storytelling and develop their own unique stories in a fun, encouraging environment. Perfect for kids who love adventure, creative writing, and using their imagination! 

In this 8 week class we will begin each class with a fun game, Would You Rather?, or Trivia, or a Guessing Game. We will then learn a little about the art of storytelling and then move on to creating our own stories. It is an interactive class, we will use storytelling prompts to build up to our storytelling skills.

Week 1: The Art of Storytelling – A Journey Through History

📖 Lesson Focus: How did storytelling begin? Learn how ancient civilizations used storytelling to share knowledge, entertain, and preserve culture.🔥 Activity: Interactive discussion on myths, legends, and oral traditions.📝 Storytelling Prompt: Create a campfire tale inspired by ancient folklore (example: a lost treasure or a wise old storyteller passing down a legend).

Week 2: Silly Stories & Tall Tales

📖 Lesson Focus: What makes a story funny? Explore exaggeration, nonsense, and humor in storytelling.🔥 Activity: Collaborative "Story Swap" where students add silly twists to each other's stories.📝 Storytelling Prompt: Create a wacky tall tale about a character with a hilarious superpower.

Week 3: Spooky & Mysterious Tales

📖 Lesson Focus: The elements of suspense – how to build tension and craft a great spooky story.🔥 Activity: Students create and share two-sentence horror stories before developing a full ghost story.📝 Storytelling Prompt: Write a chilling campfire ghost story about something unexpected lurking in the dark.

Week 4: Adventure & Hero Stories

Week 8: Grand Finale – The Ultimate Campfire Storytelling Session
