Join us for this fun, lively book club. During this five week class, we will meet once a week to “travel” to New York City to adventure with Stuart. You do NOT want to miss our book club discussion of this timeless classic! Stuart Little is no ordinary mouse. Born to a family of humans, he lives in New York City with his parents, his older brother George, and Snowbell the cat. Though he's shy and thoughtful, he's also a true lover of adventure. Stuart's greatest adventure comes when his best friend, a beautiful little bird named Margalo, disappears from her nest. Determined to track her down, Stuart ventures away from home for the very first time in his life. He finds adventure aplenty. But will he find his friend? Join us and solve the mystery! Adventurers wanted! In this multi-day class, we will meet once weekly for five weeks to dive deep into Stuart Little by E.B. White. During class time, full participation in class discussion is expected. There is grace for a shy student, of course, but students will be encouraged to dive into the discussion as they acclimate to the group. Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts and ideas. I will have questions and discussion prompts ready each week, should conversation lag. After our discussion time, we will end with a game if time permits! My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively! Chapters will be assigned to be read ahead of time, before class. There are twenty chapters in this book. The book is also available as an audiobook! All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, playing fun games and ending with a round of “Would You Rather” questions, all related to the book. Our last class will be a book party! Snacks are welcome and encouraged! Please read chapters 1-4 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 5-8 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 9-12 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 13-16 BEFORE class! Students will need a copy of the book Stuart Little by E.B. White. The book must be read or listened to BEFORE class. Students can use their own books, library books, ebooks, or even listen to the audio books. If listening to the audiobooks, it is highly recommended that student reads independently to develop their own reading comprehension and competency.
