Student will discover and learn more about Juneteenth
I am an experienced teacher and have taught several classes related to racism, segregation, enslavement, and Culinary Arts on the Outschool platform. In addition, I have taught on several other online platforms for the past 9 years. Juneteenth is an often overlooked but significant holiday in American History. However, many families are unfamiliar with the celebration. As an educator and mom, I developed a 5-day program to help learners experience Juneteenth through art, food, and storytelling.

A detail-specific list will be posted to guide students for class: Pre-class preparation: Watch videos that explain what is Juneteenth and why is it celebrated. Set out tie-dye supplies. Day 1 - Dry the painted shirt and watch the video with historical dates. Set out supplies for the back of the T-shirt. Day 2 - Layout supplies for Day 3, embellish the T-shirt(optional), and listen to the "Black National Anthem". Day 3 - Layout supplies for Day 4. Day 4 - Prepare for the Day 5 Celebration.1 - 2 每週課外時間

Dear Parents: We will be discussing enslavement, emancipation, injustices, segregation, and racism. There are links and resources to look over and use for class. Please share your experiences, memories, race, and ethnicity with your student if applicable. Also, please consider if adult supervision is needed for the art projects and cook segment. Adults know their learners' capabilities. Parents or adults can assist children off screen. I recommend that you cover your learner's work station and provide gloves or wipes for the paint sessions. The recipe calls strawberries and lemonade. Please consider optional food choices if there are any known allergens. Thank you.
