This class is the Self-Paced version of one of our most popular classes! In this class your learner will receive pre-recorded lessons that can do whenever you have time during the week! Welcome to Introduction to Veterinary Science! In this asynchronous, version of our very popular introductory veterinary science course. Students will receive recorded lessons and supplemental videos to learn about what veterinary professionals do every day to care for animals! This class will teach learners about the differences in a variety of veterinary careers, basics of feline and canine body language and why that is important to understand what they are trying to “tell” us, as well as how vets do physical exams and get vital signs. They will also learn about what happens when a pet goes into the hospital for surgery! In the 5th lesson students will learn about how pets get X-Rays, and they will be able to “read” some X-Rays and share what they believe they are seeing, as if they were the veterinary radiologists. This is often the most favorite lesson!! Finally, in the last lesson, they will learn about some of the things we do in the veterinary lab such as looking at slides under the microscope and doing different blood tests. This is an enrichment class and has no required homework. There is a recorded lesson first each lesson, done by me, a certified veterinary technician, and there are carefully selected additional videos that are shared as follow upon the topic. There are no prerequisites for this class… ONLY to love animals! Learners do not want to become a veterinarian to take this class, although many certainly do! This is good information for all pet owners to understand as it makes pet care even more understandable! My mission is to share my experience and love for animals and veterinary medicine with others! I am excited to help your learner reach their goals! Please message me if you have any questions. I sincerely look forward to working with your learner!
