Looking to become a super summarizer? This is the place to be! We will use high-quality, engaging texts to practice our summarizing skills in this ongoing course. Each week, we will read a new story, and then practice using the format "Somebody - Wanted - But - So - Then - Finally" to write a summary of the text. Students will use a graphic organizer to organize their thinking write a paragraph-long summary. This is the FLEX edition of the popular class, "Become a Super Summarizer." ...
Students will improve their understanding of what a summary is and will gain experience in writing a strong summary.
Students should bring paper and a pencil to class. They can print out the included graphic organizer, or copy it onto a blank sheet of paper.
