In this class, students will learn watercolor techniques including adding depth, texture, and interest. Students will create a unique piece each week using a combination of these techniques. In the class, students will also have fun seeing how science can be used in art to create interesting effects including absorption, repel and attract. Students will follow along step-by-step with their teacher to create their own unique piece of art. Students are encouraged to engage in the class by asking questions and sharing their progress as they go through the class. Students are encouraged to share their artwork via the classroom board. Recordings will be made available for students to use for review. Breakdown of Weekly Schedule: Week 1: Salt and Wax Resist Week 2: Sunset and Silhouette Week 3: Sharpie and Plastic Wrap Week 4: Sponge Tree

I am an illustrator, artist, teacher, business owner, and a pug mom. I have a degree in Illustration, a visual art minor with 20 years of teaching experience. I believe that knowledge is power and the more you know the greater your influence can be. Learning should be fun and individual. Even when my students are looking at the same picture for painting class, their work is very individual and unique to them and I love that part of the creative process.
