The study of world history encompasses a range of significant and sensitive topics that have shaped the course of human events. These topics include but are not limited to war, slavery, racism, imperialism, and genocide. As an educator, I prioritize the responsible and age-appropriate presentation of this content.
I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where students can explore these sensitive topics with respect and empathy. I take great care to ensure that the material is presented in a manner that is suitable for the age and maturity level of the students. By fostering understanding and critical thinking, I aim to encourage students to grapple with the complexities of history while promoting empathy and tolerance.
It is important to me that students feel comfortable and supported during discussions and activities related to these sensitive topics. I am dedicated to providing appropriate context, multiple perspectives, and fostering open dialogue to promote a deeper understanding of the historical events and their implications.
By approaching these topics with sensitivity, respect, and age-appropriate content, we can create an engaging and educational environment that encourages students to think critically and develop a broader understanding of the world around them.

Occasionally, students will be required to have access to pen and paper during class for note-taking or completing certain activities. Additionally, there may be instances where a printer is needed to obtain and print out worksheets or handouts provided by the teacher. Having the necessary supplies, such as pen and paper, ensures that students can actively participate in class discussions and complete assigned tasks effectively. While digital alternatives may be available for some assignments, it is advisable to have access to a printer in case physical copies are required.

I have had the privilege of embarking on educational and cultural trips to various countries around the world, broadening my understanding of different societies and their historical contexts. Some of the countries I have visited include Cuba, Mexico, the Bahamas, various islands in the Caribbean, and more. These experiences have enriched my knowledge and provided me with valuable insights into diverse cultures and historical landscapes.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Comparative Politics. My academic journey included a wide range of courses focusing on various political and historical aspects of civilizations from different time periods and regions around the world. This comprehensive study allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the complexities of past and present societies.
Furthermore, I pursued a Master of Education degree specializing in Secondary Social Sciences, which provided me with advanced knowledge in teaching history, political science, and related subjects. I obtained certification from the state of Alabama, qualifying me to teach social sciences to students in grades 7-12.
Over the course of my teaching career, I have gained extensive experience instructing students in US and World history; dedicated to delivering engaging and informative lessons in these subjects. Additionally, I have conducted extensive research in both history and politics for over 20+ years, allowing me to stay informed and up-to-date with the latest developments in these fields.
My educational background, teaching experience, and research expertise have equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide students with a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. I am committed to fostering a deeper understanding of historical events and political dynamics while encouraging critical thinking and a passion for learning in my learners.
