While acknowledging that the United States has had its share of flaws throughout history, sensitive topics will not be discussed to avoid controversy. Instead, we will explore the achievements of those who founded America and how they shaped the nation we know today.

Students can further explore the subject matter by clicking on the kid-friendly video links or websites at the bottom of the "Unlock the Past Fast - Take Away Notes"   to deepen their knowledge.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND:  GETTING STARTED - Right Away!
I highly recommend that learners create an interactive notebook (of sorts) with the "Take Away Notes" that accompany each lesson so that they can organize the materials for future use. This allows students to build their own study guide and provides a way for them to refer back to the information later on. By creating an interactive notebook, students can also add their own notes, illustrations, and diagrams, which can further enhance their understanding of the material.  Overall, It's a great way to encourage active learning and ensure that students retain the information over time.

To create an interactive notebook, students will need a spiral notebook, a variety of "sharpie-type" highlighters, and rubber cement or glue stick. (I like rubber cement because it doesn’t wrinkle the paper and you can re-position the page if you “mess up”.)
