課堂經歷

******PLEASE NOTE: We will discuss topics including institutional corrections, which includes prisons and community corrections which includes probation and parole. Examples will include videos. We will also view and discuss video examples of traffic stops, which depict auto theft and illegal contraband including marijuana and other drug paraphernalia found by the police officer at the time of the traffic stop. These learning resources are used for the purpose of teaching students about the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendment of the Constitution as it applies to due process protections related to the administration of the criminal justice system. I do not show any videos directly from the internet. I personally edit all videos that are used during the course and videos are played directly from powerpoint presentation to ensure that the material is age appropriate and that it free of any inappropriate language or other inappropriate content.********

This is a summary of the full listing of class requirements. Please read the full listing upon enrollment to ensure that the class is good fit for your student.

*** [[ Please do not allow the student to attempt to take the class while in bed or otherwise laying and/or moving throughout the home while the class is in progress. ]]

*** Virtual backgrounds are not allowed as they are a distraction and students use them to get around the requirement that they please not take the class in bed.

*** We request that the student use a wired internet source plugged into the internet router instead of WIFI – constant blinking of the Internet and students dropping in and out of the class is disruptive. In addition, it is difficult to communicate with the student when the WIFI is intermittently unstable, as it makes it difficult to understand what the student is saying ((It is best if students can test this technology at least 1 day prior to starting the class.))

*** Participation in-person with continuously enabled video/audio each day of the class is mandatory for (all) students. [This is not a video play-back class]. The class is delivered in real time only.

*** Please do not allow the student to attempt to project their video participation in class using an ipad; phone; facetime or other mobile device.

*** The student (must) use a desktop computer or laptop sitting securely on a desk or table so that the camera is stabilized at all times throughout the class. Constant movement of the screen or video camera that is used to project the student’s video into the classroom is very disruptive during the class.

***For optimal performance, students should use headphones with a good microphone so that we can communicate efficiently throughout the course. ((It is best if students can test this technology at least 1 day prior to starting the class.))
