My private tutoring sessions will help students that are non-native English speakers to converse with a native speaker.  You can expect conversation and pronunciation-focused lessons.  Parents are welcome to request topics, skills, and challenges for their student.  I also like to use student's interests in order to assist them in their English language learning journey.  

Our first class will help me get to know your learner and determine their level. There are six levels:

Level 1:
These classes are for beginners who know little to no English or cannot read English. We will focus on learning new vocabulary words, sight words, phonics, short sentences, and numbers. Your child will  engage in visualization exercises to develop creativity, cross-curricular thinking and lively stories that explore social values.

Level 2:
These classes are for beginners who know some English and can read some words and short sentences already. We will practice having conversations and learn new vocabulary words and phrases. Your child will  engage in visualization exercises to develop creativity, cross-curricular thinking and lively stories that explore social values.  Your child will learn more challenging words and read longer sentences. 

Level 3:
These classes are for intermediate-level learners who can read long sentences and short stories. We will practice having longer conversations and learn new vocabulary words and phrases. Your child will learn more challenging words, read longer sentences, and we will begin to focus on reading comprehension. 

Level 4:
These classes are for intermediate-level learners who can read longer sentences and stories and enjoy being challenged. We will practice having longer conversations and learn new vocabulary words and phrases. Your child will learn more challenging words, read longer sentences, and focus on reading comprehension. 

Level 5: 
These classes are for intermediate-level learners who can read more challenging sentences and stories and enjoy being challenged. We will practice having longer conversations and learn new vocabulary words and phrases. Your child will learn more challenging words, read longer sentences, and focus on more challenging reading comprehension. 

Level 6:
These classes are for more advanced learners. We will read higher level texts and focus on more difficult vocabulary words, definitions, reading comprehension, and have discussions. 

In order to gain students interest, you can expect examples, props, and photographs all in a prepared lesson.  Engaging characters accompany learners on their journey, each with special powers. As the students grow, so do the characters, and new faces are introduced every two levels.

I am an experienced ESL teacher.  I have been teaching English for 3 years both in person and online.  I have taught over 5,000 classes for VIPKid.  My teaching certificate is with the State of Texas Teacher's License in all levels.  I have 2 Bachelor degrees from Lamar University;  one in Vocal Music Education, one in Instrumental Music Education.
