An Initial Introduction, using a Smore (interactive newsletter) to the class containing the following: - A Warm & Friendly Greeting to you! - Connecting with each learner via video for safety (Outschool's Learner Verification: https://support.outschool.com/en/articles/4063624-learner-verification) - Using the Microphone and Raise Hand Feature for questions and comments - Class Rules - Zoom Pointers - What will I learn today? list - A fun sharing opportunity for students where they can answer the technology themed poll question, "What type of computer(s) are you using for today's class?" A. Desktop, B. Laptop, C. Tablet or D. Smartphone, using the site Nearpod 2. Class Learning Activities: - Google Slides Presentation containing the following information: a. Interactive Map definition, information and how it relates to this class b. Guided Virtual Tour definition, information and how it relates to this class c. Simulation definition, information and how it relates to this class d. Multimedia definition, information and how it relates to this class e. Computer Hardware definition, information and how it relates to this class f. Computer Software definition, information and how it relates to this class g. The four categories of computer chips in terms of functionality, and the 3 types of computer chips in terms of circuitry h. Examples of internal hardware components and how they help a computer to operate i. The "Tech Town" scenario using an Interactive Map Activity that introduces and identifies the internal hardware components. Students will follow along to complete this activity. j. Directions on participating and completing the Guided Virtual Tour - The Guided Virtual Tour Activity and fun Challenge Questions. Students will work independently to complete this activity. - Class Summary - Questions and Answers 3. Upon the conclusion of the class students will be sent, using the Outschool Communication Platform, two files: - A Certificate of Achievement (.pdf) - A list of Internet Resources about Virtual Tours for children (.pdf) How will I teach?
