In this fun and engaging ongoing class, we will learn to read and spell the most common first-grade high-frequency words and sight words, particularly those that aren't very decodable, using the Science of Reading "heart word" method. Students will learn the "heart word" method to break the code for reading non-decodable words.
Each week, I will upload optional printouts for highlighting, spelling, and dissecting our sight words. These printouts are optional, but I do recommend having them, if possible, so your student can do the activities with me and use their printouts to continue practicing the sight words between classes. A highlighter of any color and a pencil are also needed for class. Your learner may also use a red colored pencil.
