Each week we will focus on letter sounds, letter identification/recognition, sight words, counting, basic addition, subtraction, number sense, colors, shapes, and more!

Each class will begin with a welcome song, weather, and days of the week. We will focus on specific letters each day, but will review  other letters to keep our skills fresh. Each day will focus on a math strategy and our skills will grow each week. Each class will include story time, sharing, and a wrap up quick craft. 

The days within the week will be flexible to allow for creativity and flow of the lessons. Each Thursday we will evaluate our learning, wrap up loose ends and include some time for exploring topics that perhaps did not receive enough attention that week that learners would like to explore a bit before moving on to a new theme. 

Each class will include brain breaks and movement to encourage motivation and participation.

I am a certified teacher. I have a master's degree in Reading with Reading Specialist certification. I am also certified as an early childhood educator (Newborn to Kindergarten). Additionally I have Administrator I certification and have been an educational leader for many years. I have taught all elementary grades and worked at the central office level as a Parent Engagement Instructional Specialist. I have been retired from public teaching for a year and have been with Outschool for 2 months. I look forward to working with your child. I am passionate about phonics and reading as well as number sense and mathematics and know that your child will grow in those areas.

Homework will not be assigned but learners are encouraged to practice what we learned in class outside of class. I will share worksheets and family activities each week to encourage families to engage in the learning with their child.
