US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner - Advanced Level
Hello, I am so happy to have you in my class. Learners interested in this class should know the letters/sounds and able to recognize/understand their numbers. Each week is new information so hopping in at anytime will work, but the class does build on the content as they will see familiar strategies, sight words, etc. (Detailed description below) Each class will begin with a morning circle time where we briefly cover the days of the week, month, seasons, etc. After class students may choose to participate in an optional sharing time as well. I always provide students this as an option to socialize, participate and share their favorite things. Use Coupon code: TAYLO7CA5Z9 for your first class FREE! If this class is too challenging check out year 1 that has been loved by hundreds of students! This is an advanced class (I offer a year one class for learners wanting to master their letters and sounds), created for PREK, TK and Kinder students, many first grade students enjoy it as well. Each week we will focus on one word family a week: ap, at, an etc. Through each short vowel (a, e, i, o, u) then move on to CVCE words (_a_e) through each vowel (a, e, i, o, u) each week there will be a new sight word as well. We practice blending the words through multiple hands on strategies that were created to get the most output from students in a brief amount of time. Each week students are also given several printable worksheets to reinforce what was learned in class and given a digital activity for each word family and sight word. There is always enough "homework" for parents who want to stretch my lesson to all five days of the week. The second class will begin by learning several mathematical methods (counting on, pictures, number lines, etc) for both addition and subtraction. We will also learn patterns, graphing, measuring, symmetry, probability, etc. (at grade level of course) Students will also be given a large amount of printable and digital (optional) activities for math. Schedule: Class will begin with greetings and a warm up song and dance to get our sillies out. From there we will hop into calendar time to sing and chant the season, month, day of the week and what day comes before and after (“yesterday, today and tomorrow”). Each week we will focus on a new material (word families, decomposing numbers, shapes, and sight words, etc.). We will divide our focuses between the two days to better enhance each students experience. With Mondays/Tuesdays focusing on letters (identification/sound), sight words, and writing, etc. and Wednesdays/Thursdays focusing on numbers, math, shapes and patterns, etc. We will then spend our remaining time focusing on other fundamental principals. This class will focus on new information each week, allowing new students to hop in or out at any time. In addition, the classes are identical, just held on different days and times. With M/W and Tu/Th being a complete course for the week. Being a parent, I understand life gets crazy, so I have done this to allow parents the flexibility to switch to a different day or time and the student will not have missed anything. I have created this class to be extremely engaging in hopes to get the most output from each student. At such a young age I understand how hard it can be for little ones to sit still. Through asking questions, playing games, and google slides I make sure each student has an opportunity to answer and participate. I add 1 minute engaging, informational songs that mirror the lesson plan to pull students focus back in and have a chance to learn while singing and listening to a fun beat. After class is over students can say goodbye OR stay for a few minutes to share, whether it's a toy, information, or something they are going to do that day. I do this to allow students an opportunity to engage with their peers, and feel special without taking away from class time. After class students can visit the classroom where new material is posted each week. I provide worksheets, digital assignments, virtual classrooms filled with material, games and videos, and more (all optional). This class was created to be more challenging than my year 1 class. If you sign up your child and feel it is too difficult we can transfer into my year one class and I will refund the year 2 class that was taken. Teacher expertise and credentials
Before, during and after my college experience I have spent time volunteering, teaching and observing in early childhood education classes. After being in the live setting for ten years I moved to virtual when we had our children. I have taught online all over the world for over five years now to preschool aged children. Each year I continue to take courses to improve my understanding on early childhood education. Each year I continue to love it more and more.
