This super fun camp will give picky eaters a chance to tame their fears! We'll explore and sample 2 new, healthy, seasonal foods each day. We'll investigate smells, textures, colors, and overall appearance. We'll share some techniques to get past weird textures and ways to mellow out extreme flavors. The food choices will be from different categories; commonly accepted foods (i.e. apples, potatoes, bananas), oddly textured foods (i.e. avocados, okra, kiwi), and strongly flavored foods...
Students will learn more about foods they don't like and become more comfortable with the idea of trying new, healthy foods.
I have an M.S. in health education and a B.S. in health, wellness, and nutrition. I have spent most of the last decade developing and teaching curriculum for youth and family community health programs. I've had the opportunity to teach many families how to incorporate healthy choices into their lives.
