In this class, students will continue to learn piano skills appropriate for this level of learning. They will  have fun using well-known songs and additional activities to accomplish this goal. 

I am a retired public school music teacher.  I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a  Bachelors of Music Education.  I have taught music to all grades in the public school system, but spent most of time in elementary and middle school music. I have taught private piano lessons for many years in my home to all ages, ranging from 5 years old to adults.  I have taught online for more than 5 years and enjoy this a great deal!  I am also certified in Reading and ESL and enjoy working with all ages of students.

Each week, students are encouraged to review the practice videos sent to make sure they are playing the songs correctly.  Practice is encouraged to help students strengthen the skills that they are learning.

No formal assessment or letter grade is given. Informal assessment is performed during class by watching students and answering their questions.

Teacher created unlisted YouTube videos will be included as an addition to each week’s class notes. Any additional class activities sent to students are all used with permission from the creator.
