The Mindful Students program teaches 26 fun and engaging A-Z Mindfulness strategies that correspond with each letter of the alphabet creating an engaging framework for K-5 students to follow. Increase Awareness, Buzz like a Bee, and release thoughts in Cloud Meditation. Students are guided to practice empowering social and emotional strategies like Energy, Gratitude, and Visualization that enhance presence and promote living mindfully in the classroom and beyond through experiential practices...
1. Students learn mindfulness strategies that enhance over-all well-being. Practicing Awareness of body, breath, and mind, Visualization, Kindness, and Gratitude followed with self-reflection on thoughts and feelings creates space to feel peaceful, calm, connected, optimistic, and experience improved mental clarity, mood and focus. The gift of being present with curiosity allows deeper connection to ourselves and others and contributes to overall well-being. 2. Self-Practice- Students learn and practice fun, engaging strategies and then self-reflect. They are encouraged to practice strategies daily and over time may become more emotionally regulated and better able to respond to stress instead of reacting to it when in an emotionally deregulated state. The program guides students who already practice mindfulness while encouraging and inspiring those who have never practiced to begin. Daily practice and repetition promotes peace, happiness and inner-calm, positively effecting the student and their relationships. 3. Mindful Relationships-The program is easy to follow and beneficial for students of all ages. Many techniques can be practiced almost anywhere. Students often become inspired and excited to model and teach their friends and families the strategies with confidence. Benefits include enhanced focus and attention span with improved emotional regulation, and stress management skills and builds resilience. With regular practice compassion, kindness, and gratitude for oneself and others is developed.
Thousands of students have benefited from Lani’s A-Z Mindfulness strategies. Kids today are stressed so providing tools to manage their stress is empowering and enhances their well-being. Lani is a charismatic experienced educator who is very responsive to her students learning styles and needs and has been providing enriching lessons since 2004. Her social and emotional practices are playful keeping students engaged and excited to continue learning and exploring. Learning to live mindfully creates freedom to live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.
A one-page journal entry for self-reflection is provided so students can reflect on how the strategies impact them.
