In this ongoing course which meets two times a week, students will explore the full middle school life science curriculum throughout the school year, applying concepts through scientific inquiry, research, and real-life examples. My goal is to make science engaging and fun as we investigate key life science principles, helping your learner build confidence in the material. Expect a dynamic learning experience with pictures, videos, stories, projects, and more!

In the fall, explore cell biology, including cell theory, types of cells, membrane function, and homeostasis. Engage in labs and projects like cell transport and design. Dive into genetics, covering DNA, protein synthesis, Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance, and conduct DNA labs and modeling projects. Study microorganisms, focusing on viruses and bacteria. Learn about cell division through mitosis and meiosis, with labs and projects on these processes.

In the spring, investigate photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and their stages through hands-on labs. Study ecology, including organism interactions, food chains, and human environmental impact, culminating in a project and presentations. Finally, delve into human anatomy, exploring all major body systems with projects and presentations to reinforce learning.
