Let's take the frustration out of learning how to spell words by understanding word patterns and spelling rules in a fun, hands-on way. We will work on phonemic awareness through listening to each sound in the word and learning which letters and letter combinations make the word! I am a certified elementary teacher and have taught phonics, reading, writing and math for many years. Before teaching 2nd grade, I tutored students in reading comprehension, decoding words, math and science after school and during the summer. I was also a Title 1 reading intervention specialist for grades kindergarten-3rd grade. I have worked in a preschool and pre-k setting as well working on a variety of literacy skills.
