In this full year ongoing course, students will learn phonics patterns, then use them to build, read, and write words. We will also learn/review a few sight words (so that we can read sentences)! Using phonics patterns to read short words is a foundational reading skill, and sets students up to successfully decode larger words. Before graduating college, I worked as an afterschool tutor for students grades K-6 for 2 years. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University in 2014. I taught 1st grade for 4 years before becoming a stay-at-home mother. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters Degree in Educational Technology and Instructional Design.
