수학자처럼 이야기하자! (2/3학년)

Children are natural mathematicians. They notice patterns around them, create intricate designs and calculate meaningful numbers. In this small group math talks class, children's natural curiosity will set the stage for an interactive math conversation. Each child will have the opportunity to share their ideas in response to a picture prompt. Picture prompts will reflect math in the natural world. Together, we will notice, wonder and talk about math in a picture and the world around us. Math conversation may include numbers, addition, subtraction, geometry and measurement. Learners will reason, justify and defend their math ideas. This class will inspire children to think like a mathematician, share their math ideas and listen to the ideas of others. Through participation in this class, children will build number sense and confidence!
Math concepts in this class can be approached in many different ways therefore class is appropriate for a range of math levels. The recommended level is about grade 3 or ages 7-9.
