수업 소개
This cool painting is a great way to use both watercolors and acrylic/tempera paint to achieve a new perspective from underwater. We will start by look at underwater images and talk about cool colors. We will look at sea animals and understand the shapes they take so artists can paint them easily. We will start with a watercolor wash of cool, ocean colors. I will lead artists in a step-by-step process to understand how to leave our sunlight “hole” and layer colors for a dreamy effect. Then we will use black tempera for the rock walls, plants, and sea life. There will be plenty of visual examples and time for everyone to paint and ask questions or share ideas. It will be very exciting to see each artist’s picture come together from an underwater perspective! You will need: - Tempera/acrylic paint, black - Watercolors, blues, greens - Mixed media paper- art paper that can handle a lot of paint and water Not larger than 8 x10 - Cup of water - Brushes (diff sizes are helpful) - Old washcloth - Markers including black and pencil/eraser - Drawing paper (Printer paper okay)

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, and chalk pastels. My personal style is more abstract, graphic, and even impressionistic and this is reflected in my own artwork over the years. I worked with young learners for several years when I was in charge of a volunteer- lead art program that focused on art elements and the art masters. We did many different types of projects and used different media and techniques each month. Sharing these colorful and simple ideas with young artists is exciting and I often learn from them as well as they share their ideas and express themselves in new ways.
