수업 소개

영어 수준 - 알 수 없음
레벨 Beginner
Artists will meet each week to compose a fun and colorful piece. We will use paints, markers, and other materials you probably have at home already like a Q-tip, muffin tin or coffee filters to create vibrant, energetic, and individual creations.

After quick hellos and introductions, we will get right to work. It may be a bit messy, but it's gonna be fun! I will guide students throughout the class and they will be able to see my artwork as a reference. One week we may be diffusing colors on coffee filters to produce a cool design underneath; another week we will set up a quick printing-making studio and create monoprint designs; many weeks we will draw and paint different scenes or objects!

Parents- please be available to help your artist as needed or even do the project with them depending on age and ability. Please make sure artists are wearing clothing that can take a colorful “beating” as we may have some spills or sprays.

Please note: Some projects may require the purchase of something you may not have on hand, but usually can easily get. Upon enrollment, there is a doc available with an outline of the lessons and supplies. Also, I send out a weekly message reiterating the supplies and any alterations if needed (usually posted on Sunday ). I strongly urge you to sign up for classroom alerts to find out any of the latest updates to your classes (posted in the classroom). Always excited to meet new artists! Thank you!

Topics (may be subject to change):

Week of
Jan 2 & 4th: Beach Scape
Jan 6: Cardinal Winter Scene
Jan 13: no class
Jan 20: Snowdrift/Snowscape

Jan 27: Snowball & Mittens: mixed media paper (or anything you have that can hold up to watercolor paint, 2 pieces); watercolors; markers; brushes (large and small); old washcloth or paper towels; cup of water; small amount of table salt; scissors; pencil, eraser, black Sharpie; glue stick; printout of mittens (sent upon enrollment)

This class is **ongoing** so we meet each week for something new. Families are charged each Sunday for the following week. You may unenroll if you wish (and reenroll if there is still a spot available). There is no long-term commitment.

학습 목표

My goal is for artists to create beautiful and brilliant compositions using different media and fun techniques; to inspire them to try more on their own; and, for them to return to the studio for something new the following week!

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, and chalk pastels. My personal style is more abstract, graphic, and even impressionistic and this is reflected in my own painting style over the years. I enjoy the spontaneity of these creative painting projects and there is no better group of learners to do this with than the younger set!
